A magnificent Moroccan-style villa in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town, within walking distance of trendy bistros and the German International School, is going on auction.

Tanya Jovanovski, franchisee of Rawson Auctions Western Cape, says this totally refurbished property resembles a Moroccan retreat, with each room being individually decorated to express the wonderful individuality of this special home.

The home comprises six bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, two lounges, two kitchens, two studies, an extended patio, and a balcony which “overlooks the entire suburb in all its glory as it reaches to the base of Table Mountain”, she says.

Additionally, the house boasts two wine cellars, a family room, entertainment room, romantic alcoves – inside and outside, and a private pool, further adding to the ambience of the home, which is surrounded by ‘holiday-house’ luxury.

“The home exudes romantic charm. Each room is breathtaking in its own way, and flows easily into the rest of the house. The aesthetic of the architecture and style is rivalled only by the uniqueness of the finishes and furnishings,” says Jovanovski.

“When you walk into this house it’s like you step into a space of splendour and seclusion, with uninterrupted views of Table Mountain.”

The property, found at 15 Varsity Street, covers an area of 495sqm, and has onsite tandem parking garages for two vehicles.

Jovanovski says the villa has the potential to be rented out as a B&B for R25 000 per day.

“The villa is just magnificent, in all senses of the word, but the fantastic qualities of Tamboerskloof shouldn’t be left out of the equation,” she says.

“The suburb is one of the oldest residential suburbs in Cape Town, and is known for its historical, Victorian-style homes. It offers beautiful views of the bay and the surrounding mountains – and is an extremely safe neighbourhood with great schools in close proximity. Don’t miss this opportunity.”

The auction will be silent by tender, comprising written offers in a sealed envelope, with tenders closing on 22 February 2017 at 12h00. The guided price is available on application, and all offers will be reviewed. Rates and taxes for the property are R6 000 per month.

In following with the terms of Rawson Auctions has laid out, Jovanovski says there is no registration fee to bid. However, 5% of the purchase price as deposit, as well as 10% commission plus VAT over and above the purchase price is to be paid to Rawson Auctions by the buyer on acceptance of the seller.

Bidders are required to be registered and must have certified copies of their identity documents and proof of residence with them.
